Asphalt 6: Adrenaline

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline is another racing game from Gameloft. "Feel the thrill of racing like never before in the newest adrenaline-pumping edition of the Asphalt series. " I picked this up when it was free so I had a good chance to play around with both the iPad and iPhone versions of this game. If I had to describe it in one sentence? A sugar rush that crashes and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

The game is portrayed as exciting and fast with off the wall graphics and action. Now if you have never played racing games before and you end up with this, its not bad. Actually what your getting for your money is quite worth it and more. I mean its a freaking dollar! cant buy water for that much now a days much less a driving game.

However coming from a background of gaming and knit pick expertise in simulation and driving games I have to point out a few details. First of all, this game is bloated. Both in size and excessive UI elements. The colors make it feel like the 90's exploded in a blender accident. The graphics are rough and feel rushed, this seems to be a recurring issue with Gamelofts "i want to conquer the world" strategy. The physics are more arcade than anything you will get your hands on. But no damage but your windshield will shatter if you hit something full speed. Almost annoying when it comes down to it.

If you want a fun driving/racing game, I would recommend Real Racing. But again, for a buck, its still okay.
